Impact:
There are currently 2.2 million people incarecerated in the United States. The US represents 5% of the world population, but 25% of the worlds prison population, giving the US the highest prison population in the world. Racial disparities and the lack of wealth, as well as the failed War on Drugs, are currently reasons why the prison and jail populations are so unnecessarily high.

Racial disparities and the lack of wealth, as well as the failed War on Drugs, are currently reasons why the prison and jail populations are so unnecessarily high. Each year billions of dollars are spent on mass incarceration, not to mention the physical and mental problems that can arise from incarceration. We need to stop arresting people for drug crimes, and other crimes that aren't violent or serious.

criminal record reform and asset re-entry initiatives are the key components for any organized solution

drug related arrests will organically decline as legitimate financial opportunities other than drug dealing are created

Understanding red-lining, American slavery and white flight is essential for longterm nonviolent drug crime law change

Good job stating the problem, very week on the solution. If we don't arrest, then what do we do?

In general, I agree with the non-incarceration of non-violent criminals. In general, but this goal does seem too broad.

I support the goal. However, in its current construction this seems very broad. Can it be targeted to a specific reform?
