Fight with terrorists, lose your passport.

Impact

Impact:
This creates a greater risk for US citizens to participate in support of terrorist activities. They have something to lose, their nationality. It would also prevent US terrorists from reentering the country.

Debate Summary

Present your argument:

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) introduced the Expatriate Terrorists Act, S.2779. It's pretty simple. If you are US citizen and you fight with terrorists you lose your US passport. It amends Section 349(a) of the Immigration and Nationality Act.

The ACLU Urges Opposition to S. 2779, Expatriate Terrorists Act and considers it unnecessary and dangerous. The companion Bill is H.R. 5450.

Additional Description:
Would you vote for this? Should this proposed bill be in the Judiciary committee and not Homeland Security?

There has to be some cost for violating the law. I'm not opposed to the constitutional argument but… ACLU?
