Should GMO’s Be Banned In the United States?

Primary tabs

Impact

Impact:
Bring awareness to the "Monsanto Protection Act."

Debate Summary

Present your argument:

In over 60 countries throughout the world – Japan, Australia and the European Union there are bans on GMOS. Companies such as Monsanto can not be produced or sold in those countries. So why are GMO’s allowed in the United Stated? Why is it legal to sale food that will ultimately make the American population sick and cause harm to the environment?

Truth is GMO corporations are using Americans as guinea pigs while they are amassing astronomical profits. Companies like Monsanto are, “giving rise to potentially toxic or allergenic molecules or even alter the nutritional value of food,” have a disastrous effect on living things such as bees and the monarch butterfly, and “patented GMO seeds concentrate power in the hands of a few biotech corporations and marginalize small farmers,” as explicated by Nongmoproject.org.

It is time to demand clean safe food for our families and country. Aren’t our children, mothers, fathers and grandparents worth it?
